Can My Husband's Arabic Rub Off On Me?
Asalam alaekum waramatullahi wabarakatu dear Sis,
Trust you're doing great.
10 forms..Subhannalah 10 verb forms! Ah..After what I went through this week with my Arabic program, I've come to the conclusion that when I survive my Arabic foundation course, I can officially take on the world.
It was only a few days ago that I was patting myself on the back with my progress. I was so pleased that I had the initial verb tables occupying a permanent spot in my brain. Imagine my shock when I realized they had cousins.
How does one get to the last five classes and realize that the future of these verbs are different? I refused to believe it and stayed in denial for a whole day, hoping it will go away.
Well it didn’t, I am displeased to announce that the 10 forms remained. I had no choice but to myself together ,renew my intentions and get back to it. Alhamdullilahi robbil alameen I survived! I passed the class test and I'm now officially moving on!(Well to the next lesson),I'll appreciate your congratulations in the comments section please.. It's not Easy.
A few hours later ,a thought creeped into my head.
What if my husband’s Arabic can become mine?
Hear me out. You know how they say couples rub off on each other and start to look alike and sound alike?
Could it be the same for languages? Hmmm🤔🤔🤔Something to think about. Has anyone experienced this please?
Also, I will advise that if you're interested in this journey (which you should be) start now! Adult education is something but the earlier you start ,the better. You'll be in my Duas.
Seriously though, there's beauty in it, you need to see me smiling sheepishly when I recognize words from the Quran now.
Masha Allah..This could be you too Sis, well if you start.
May Allah make it easy!
REFLECTION OF THE WEEK
Let's prioritize submitting to Allah'sﷻ will in our lives.
It's important to train not only your children but also yourself. Start by training your tongue, heart, and ears to listen and obey when Allah'sﷻ commands are given…. - Dr Haifaa Younis
This episode of Quran 30 for 30, ties soooo well into the reflection above! If you cannot watch the whole thing, you can skip to Dr Tahir’s bit at 15:50 where he really explains the concept of ‘we hear and obey’ . It is so beautiful Masha Allah!
Spent a good part of my bedtime watching this talk but it was absolutely worth it! It touched on everything from finding your place in the Dunya, to using your skills and talents to serve to the Ummah and leaving a legacy.. I LOVED it and hope you will find it beneficial.
Before, you go though, I am really curious, did you watch anything interesting last week or even the week before? Please share in the comments section, I would love to get some recommendations from you.
That’s all for this week people!
We leave you in Allah's care,
One Of Us at Ibadahplug.
