A man asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment) saying, "When will the Hour be?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "Nothing, except that I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You will be with those whom you love."

Asalam Alaekum Waramatullahi Wabarakatu,
Trust you are well, striving and thriving, In shaa Allah.
Yesterday was strange. I started my day at the burial of an ex-colleague and later attended a Muslim conference focused on innovation. Two events that couldn’t have been more different, yet both served as powerful reminders.
Reminders of the time I have.
Reminders of the time I don’t.
Reminders of the value in every hour.
Reminders of purpose.
Reminders that there is a scale.
Reminders of what truly matters.
Reminders of intentions.
Reminders to start, no matter how small.
Reminders to be consistent.
At the burial, I couldn’t help but wonder about the person who had passed. He bore a Muslim name but died as a person of another faith. I didn’t want to dwell on it too long because ultimately, Allah has the final say. The life he lived though was filled with lessons. His life can only be described as one of service—service to family, work, and his community. His colleagues and his wife shared strikingly similar stories, each highlighting his commitment to family, without even knowing what the other had said. The consistency in their words spoke volumes about the life he led.
Then, I headed to the conference, which took my thoughts in a different direction. It was still a wake-up call, but from another angle. It showed me the power of those who use their time wisely—to build, to develop, to create things that benefit society.
I’m not sure where I’m going with this, and my thoughts are a little all over the place. But if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s this: death is coming. What have I prepared for it?
We leave you in Allah's care,
