Abu Umama said he heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) say:
Recite the Qur'an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It. Recite the two bright ones, al-Baqara and Surah Al 'Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Surah al-Baqara, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it. (Mu'awiya said: It has been conveyed to me that here Batala means magicians.)
One of the things that we discussed during the Post Ramadan workshop was the miracle that's Surah Al Baqarah. The sisters on the call all agreed that this is one Surah that you NEED to make your companion because of the many MANY benefits it comes with. I shared it recently on another platform and comments came in on the many ways this Surah has come through for my sisters.. Allahu Akbar!
I've had my fair share too but today I wanted to share a recent experience.
A few weekends ago, I had a 3-hour meeting filled with the kind of discussions that just make you sad. It was heartbreaking, tiring, and one of those that leave you wondering 'why me', or 'why us'? Anyway, it needed to be had and I was so relieved when it ended!
There were no surprises that after the discussion I was EXHAUSTED..I hadn't had breakfast before it and the discussion ended up DRAINING ME... I just laid in bed there trying to recover.
I can't lie on one hand my Nafs were dragging me to YouTube, I wanted so badly to drown myself in shorts upon shorts but Allah helped me to make a better decision. The whispers were there that those videos were all I needed to feel better. But, Allah had a better plan for me.
I found myself, reaching out for my phone and turning to my miracle Surah, I recited a couple of verses and I felt a peace that I can't remember feeling in a long time... It was the calmest, most soothing, and most comforting feeling. It was just BLISS.
Normally, I would have the impact of this discussion weighing heavy on my heart and disrupting me from feeling any good but this time with Surah Al Baqarah it was different.
I felt at peace
I felt rested
Alhamdullilahi.
My message today is simple, as you prep for the best 10 days of the year, I want to invite you to include Surah Al Baqarah in your plan. I want you to give it a shot, try a page, then two, or even more. Include it in your plan and wait to see how much light it will radiate in your heart, Insha Allah.
Make Surah Al Baqarah your companion oooo.. The benefits of its company are on earth and in the hereafter.
Its light far outweighs its length.
It's blessings is worth every fight you get into with your Nafs
It will always be worth it.
May Allah make Surah Al Baqarah our companion on earth and in the grave. May Surah Al Baqarah come through for us on the day we need it the most.

People Dhul Hijja is almost heeeerreee! Please set those grand intentions now and ask Allah to support you all through. We have another chance to DIAL UP those acts of worship in these blessed 10 days. Please set your intentions to fast, Dhikr,Dua, read the Quran, reflect on it give charity, and make the most of it. Please don’t let it fly by!

Let me use Hadith to motivate you before I go:
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days,” meaning the (first) ten days of Dhul- Hijjah. They said: “O Messenger of Allah! Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?” He said: “Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, unless a man goes out with himself and his wealth and does not bring anything back.”
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأَيَّامِ " . يَعْنِي الْعَشْرَ . قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: " وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ. إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَىْءٍ " .
