Sometimes It's All About Your Effort
Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatuLlah wa barakaatuh.
Trust that you're good, striving and thriving.
Alhamdullilahi for the blessing of the BEST sisters!
Alhamdullilahi for the insights that Allah gives to others , to help us!
I recently launched a project that was a mixture of exciting, anxiety-inducing, stressful and everything else at a time..Alhamdullilahi! As you must have figured out by now, this writer DOES NOT like stress at allll, so by the time I was done with the marketing, the selling(the selling…aaaarggghhh!),the many decisions and all the talking ,I was pretty sure that I had surpassed my work quota for the year, I WAS DONE!
In the midst of my grumbling, I missed a very important piece of this project and would never have realized it, if my dear sister didn't point it out. Even though, there were stressful parts to the project, I absolutely LOVED the product, it turned out to be a beautiful project that I actually am proud of Alhamdullilahi, Every element of it turned out just how I wanted it. In the midst of my complaining, I told my sister about the great product and she helped me see the light! She reminded me that was required of me as a servant of Allah was my effort and the fact that the effort had turned out to be something so good, is a blessing in itself!
Ori mi reset ni straight!( Yoruba for my brain did a quick reset)
As we know and forget quite often ,our responsibility is to*tie our camels* and then put our trust in Allah.
Doing the best we can with our efforts is what is required of us. I feel like the gem my sister shared(May Allah bless her) unlocked a new level of gratitude in me. It helped me to appreciate a different kind of Rizq- The Rizq in my efforts, the Rizq in being able to conceptualize, write, design, create , edit and put together a product that has received amazing reviews.
It allowed me to see how Allah had blessed me with the best effort!
This also happens to be a long-term project and with things like this, having a solid foundation and a good product helps you to launch and relaunch and even create sub-products’ people, this is a win and I almost missed it!
Sometimes, results are not what we expect them to be, Allah in His knowledge and wisdom, blesses us in so many ways , and has provided Rizq for us in more ways than one. Even, my dear S pointing this out to me, is from His provision..Allahu Akbar!
May Allah forgive me for my shortcomings and well short-sightedness too!
Prompt: Today I want to think about the projects/tasks you worked on recently, could be at school, home or work. Can you spot the blessings in the efforts you made?
REFLECTION OF THE WEEK
What I love about this verse is the fact that Allah is inviting you to aid. He is not saying to deal with life passively, but exactly the opposite. Be proactive in your search for Him each every moment of your day. Islam is all about إستَعانة, seeking help and knowing that Allah has not left you alone not for a split of a second. And that مَعِيَّة, or companionship of the Divine, is exactly what Allah invites us to every single moment of our day. Every single circumstance in our life, no matter how hard or how easy it is on us, is not detached from our Creator and seeking Him through that circumstance.-Samia Mubarak
I REALLY love listening to Dr Hassan Elwan! His beautiful experience with Subhannallah made me think of this powerful words of praise in a whole new light! The way he explains got to me! Masha Allah!
Now that we are taking about the greatness of Subhannallah, that barely takes a minute but looks great on our scales, I might as well share this 3 minute read from A life with Allah that goes deep into the benefits of this blessed phrase.
Till Next Week, Insha Allah
We leave you in Allah’s care,
