Trust that you're good, striving and thriving.
A few weeks ago I got a call from an acquittance who needed my assistance on a project. After discussing with him I realised that he had clearly overestimated my influence ,but he sounded so desperate that I decided to do what I could to help. I asked him to manage his expectations though, and then went on to make a call and give him a contact too. Unfortunately, it didn't work out.
I thought it had ended there o! Till he called me again. He started off sounding so downtrodden that I was happy to stay on the phone a bit to brainstorm on ways to help him achieve his objective.
I thought the matter was over ooo! Only for him to call me AGAIN. This time I was convinced that he will beat me on the phone (Alhamdullilahi that technology advancement hasn't reached that level). He was pretty upset at this point and transferred a lot of that anger to me. It wasn't a pleasant call at all and I had to muster all the patience in me to remain calm. I knew he wasn't being mean on purpose, he was just frustrated and desperate. Luckily I was saved by a network issue and didn't bother to pick up when he tried to reach me again!
I was a little irritated with him but not too mad because I recognized the behavior he was exhibiting and I have honestly been there, many many times myself.
I could easily recollect all the times I will tie my camel and be stuck with the camel forever .I had no problem doing the work but I had a huge problem (and still do sometimes) leaving it to Allah.
I remember all the times I put in my best and couldn't live with the fact that it didn't work out.
I remember the days when I got really mad at people feeling like they had the capacity to help me (with my limited knowledge) and were therefore the reason I had failed.
A lot of times we put all our hope in our efforts or even worse in the idea that people can help us or are somewhat responsible for our success. The truth is ,they really can't! Everything is as a result of Allah's plan ,if something is destined by Allah, it will reach no matter how impossible it seems. People can be used by Allah, but that is where it ends.
Does this mean we shouldn't ask for help? Of course not, we should use the means available to us. We must however not depend on people or our imagination of what the outcome should look like.. Think of it as asking for help without being hung on the outcomes. We must learn to let go and put Our full trust in Allah.
All this seems pretty obvious but if you look carefully you'll find that you still easily depend on yourself, your network, your family or even your efforts for your needs...They can't help you oooooo! Let me tell you now, ONLY Allah can!
Know this and know peace.
As for that young man, May Allah bless him for this reflection he sparked and reward his efforts. I would have told him myself, but I honestly don’t know if ' the network' will let us speak anytime soon.
REFLECTION OF THE WEEK
Allah SWT is capable of everything.
When you ask Allah SWT for something, ask based on who He is, not based on your limited circumstances. Allah SWT is capable of everything.
This is the final call for the Dhikr and Dua books that we will be giving out for free at the 1ummah convention on Saturday Insha Allah. If you have been procrastinating , now is the time to register your interest. All those who have signed up will be contacted before the event.
Till Next Week, Insha Allah
We leave you in Allah’s care,
One of us at Ibadahplug
By Allah, there is nothing to add here. What a timely and beautiful reflection.
