Asalam Alaekum Waramatullahi Wabarakatu,
Trust you are well, striving and thriving.
Amanah is Amanah!
I must have heard this statement at least three times as I tried to focus during my prayers at an event I recently attended. After the prayers, I turned around, curious about who kept repeating it, and it was the caterer for the event. She said it with such seriousness that you’d think the entire contract was doomed if she didn’t fulfil this Amanah.
Turns out, she was talking to one of the service boys about filling up the fruit cups that were about to be served. SubhanAllah, you needed to see those cups! They were already a solid 98% full, but this lady wasn’t having it. She had promised full fruit cups, and she wasn’t going to cut corners.
The service boy couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about, but she knew it wasn’t just about satisfying the client. This was about something much greater—the trust she had with her Creator. She understood that her accountability was not limited to the event; it extended to the One she ultimately answers to.
SubhanAllah, such awareness! Such integrity! Ya Rabb! Of all the speeches, advice, hugs, and smiles I received that day, this was the highlight for me. This is the message I believe Allah wanted me to take from that event: an Amanah is an Amanah—no matter how small. If I’ve promised to deliver even just one minute more of a lecture, I must give it. If I’ve committed to completing a task, I must see it through.
This caterer reminded me that every act of ours is significant and should be done with excellence and sincerity for the sake of Allah. Even something as simple as filling a fruit cup can be an act of worship if done with the consciousness of Amanah. May Allah make us people who honor our trusts, big or small, knowing that ultimately, we are accountable to Him.
Ya Allah, please teach me to do things that are most pleasing to You. Bless me to fulfill my contracts, promises, and commitments with integrity and sincerity. Don’t let me appear on the Day of Judgment with a mountain of debts and broken trusts due to my negligence. Make me steadfast in fulfilling my Amanah in every role You’ve given me—whether as a sister, a friend, an employee, or a servant of Yours. Ya Allah, guide us all to be people of trust and responsibility. Ameen.
We leave you in Allah's care,
One Of Us at Ibadahplug.
SubhanAllah, this story is such a profound reminder of the weight of Amanah in our daily lives. The caterer’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling her trust, even in something as seemingly small as ensuring the fruit cups were truly "full," is a beautiful example of ihsan—striving for excellence in everything we do for the sake of Allah.
Your reflection really drives home the point that no act is insignificant when done with the consciousness of Allah. Whether it’s fulfilling a promise, meeting a deadline, or simply delivering on the smallest detail, our accountability isn’t limited to the people around us but ultimately to our Creator.
May Allah indeed make us among those who fulfill their Amanah in every role and responsibility we carry. May He grant us the integrity to act with sincerity, the strength to honor our commitments, and the wisdom to see that even the smallest actions are significant when done for His sake.
Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh, dear Sis. I can relate so much to this. Trusts are to be taken care of until we meet our Creator. Ameen, to your du'a. 🤲🏻
