A Slip and A Way Back
Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatuLlah wa barakaatuh.
Trust that you're good, striving and thriving.
Alhamdullilahi robbil alameen for the door Allah leaves open for us to return to Him.
Alhamdullilahi for the His signs that remind us of Him.
Alhamdullilahi for the ways that we can connect to Him.
This weekend ,I slipped and I really really hate it when I do! It is just so upsetting especially when it was as a result of a window I carelessly left open.. There is no greater evidence of how incredibly HUMAN I am and how I am not sin-resistant unfortunately.
Alhamdullilahi, for Allah’s mercy that stopped me from drowning in regret and deciding to do something about it. The something turned out to be an AA Plus session. I just went there hoping to find something that could ‘help’ and I'm so glad I did.
The session was by a personal favourite of mine Ustadha Samia Mubarak ,whose work I absolutely love and also sometimes run away from. The way she confronts her pain is admirable and she digs deep to places that I'm honestly scared to..Subhanallah..
During the session, she talked about the different ways we can engage with the Quran . She went on to explain how we can keep holding on it by reading if we cannot memorize, reciting less than a page or even listening to it.
This struck me because I realized that I sometimes take this 'all or nothing' approach to my Quran goals which can be good thing and bad too because on the days that I'm not up to it , I ended up doing nothing at all. Surely, there must be a better way!
Now this is not to say, we should not aspire to do the most by all means, give it your best! The wisdom here is in understanding your current situation and finding peace in doing in what is realistic at that time.
So in continuing my pledge to approach my life with a little more ease, this has made my to-do list. I want to explore my options with the Quran and also embrace listening to it as well. This something I used to LOVE and not sure how I lost track of it(All or nothing, I see you)!
I know it is impossible to always be on my A game but I can strive to do at least something no matter how small.
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few.”

May He help us to remember that it's our efforts not our unachievable goals of perfection that is required.
May He keep us steadfast on this path.

REFLECTION OF THE WEEK
SubhanAllah, I thought. The moon is such a great proof and dazzling sign of Allah and His perfect design. The moon is there for us and has never failed us. Allah says, وسخر "لكم" الشمس والقمر , He has made the sun and the moon useful to you, steady on their paths. (14:33)
In this moment, another verse from the Quran also sprung to mind, filling my heart with awe and inspiration: (Quran 10:5)
The moon allows us to determine the calendar and has an impact on generating waves, amongst many other purposes. How many times has the moon brought us the glad tidings of Eid? How many travellers throughout history have had their paths enlightened through its light? It provides just enough light at night for it to comfort us, not making it too bright to disrupt our sleep – a natural lamp – How Merciful is our creator! Humanity has benefitted from this free source of comfort and light for millennia. What if it ceased to function, or its light decided to extinguish because of our sins? Who other than Our Creator could bring back its light?- Hammad Fahim
Six Deep Quotes about Rizq Management:A Muslim’s worldview on Sustenance (Rizq) and Financial Planning
I really enjoyed reading this piece from Hakeem Blog my favorite part has to be how he broke down the idea of us seeking our Rizq in such a simple and practical way. It definitely is a good read and a reassuring one as well. You should check it out!
I LOVE Toward Eternity’s content!!!! I love the convert stories, I love the journeys of the people who rediscovered their faith, I LOVE them all! All so relatable and just great to watch.
