Asalam Alaekum Waramatullahi Wabarakatu,
Trust you are well, striving and thriving.
As-salamu alaykum,
Clears cobwebs... The first evidence of me being the same me? The distance between my last newsletter and this one. Ya Rabb, help me! I keep telling myself I’ll be consistent, and then life happens. So here I am, dusting things off and hoping to start fresh—again.
Now, about January 1st. I rolled into it after working till midnight. I forgot to drink water, and didn’t get any exercise in. You see by noon, I realised—2025 might be here, but I’m still me.
A couple of years ago, I gave up the buzz of resolutions that never make it past a month. I’ve come to accept that a new year won’t magically cure my midnight battles with cravings or my nafs. But if the January 1st energy works for you, go for it! Set those intentions and do what moves you forward.
For me, I’m just here o! But eyeing these things on my radar:
Brother Wadud Hassan’s Mindfulness Course:
This course has been a game-changer. It helps me stay grounded and slow down when I get caught up in well, everything. Alhamdulillah, he’s offering a discount for this community—$100 instead of $499—if we get enough people to sign up. If you want to approach life from a calmer, more connected place, email me back. Let’s take this on together. The masterclass will address some of the most profound challenges of our time including:How do we recover the lost capacity of the soul in a fragmented world?
How can we open the eye of the heart to reconnect with deeper truths?
What does it mean to see God’s signs in nature and live in awe?]
Can we find Quran-centered healing amidst life’s chaos?
How do we re-embed ourselves into our Fitrah, our natural state?
I am super EXCITED that it is RAJAB!!!!It’s Rajab! A sacred month packed with opportunities to reconnect with Allah and seek forgiveness. NO ONE NEEDS THIS MONTH MORE THAN ME!!!!
A Rajab PDF (with Ramadan Bonus!):
AA Plus has a free PDF that’s pure gold—everything you need to know about Rajab, simple, straightforward and pretty! AA plus style!Annual Intentions in Ramadan:
This year, I’m thinking of setting my big intentions in Ramadan. It’s when I feel most spiritually connected, and my duas flow best anyway. Never really thought of Ramadan in that light, but hey! Why not??? Mohammed Faris has a workshop on this, and I’m excited to try it out. You can check it out here.Hanging with Ribaat:
First of all you have got to LOVE their challenges! Love the Rajab one and every other one they creatively come up with to help keep us on track. There is an Istighfar and tidying/decluttering one too!Plus I have decided not to run away from class even though there was that one course that shook me to my bones last semester! After getting an A (yes, Alhamdulillah!), I know there’s hope for me. 😂 Implementation may still be a struggle but there is NO giving up! I’m pushing through. Enrollment is open for the new semester, so check them out and see which courses you can take. The teachers are an absolute blessing, Masha Allah.
The never-ending journey for Tajweed is there and all I can say is, I am still here and maybe my Madds are more consistent now! Takbir! lol… I LOVE my teacher though, she is the kindest , extremely patient and just lovely! Please make Dua for her! The academy I learn at has opened up slots for a 2 week free class, please check it out here.
So, that’s me—still struggling, still striving. What about you? How is it going? Share in the comments and let’s inspire each other, insha’Allah.
All errors (and typos) are from me and all good is from Allah.
We leave you in Allah's care,
One Of Us at Ibadahplug.
Jazakillahu khairan for these amazing gems you shared. I've registered for the PM. I was trying to decide on the best programme to subscribe for in prepping for Ramadan.
TMEA was where I learnt my tajweed too, Sis. My teacher was a 19 year old Indian lady. SubhanaLlah! She was super knowledgeable and patient too. I pray that Allah bless our teachers and increase them in wisdom. Ameen. 🤲
